Arrangement

Series are arranged chronologically according to the known or approximate dates of the life of administrative departments. Please note that over the years, administrative departments have been restructured or new ones created. In some cases, records related to similar functions will be located in different series. For example, records related to the planning of exhibitions will be located in Records of the Office of Institutional Advancement, Records of the NYSID Gallery, and/or Records of the Office of External Relations, depending on which department was responsible for planning exhibitions at the time. In all cases, date ranges are listed to help researchers identify which sub-series they need to consult. In cases where it is not clear, the Archivist suggests a keyword search to locate the record.
