Biography

Prior to joining NYSID in 1963 as an administrator and lecturer, Satz was a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of the University of Rochester; a two year Fulbright Scholar in Munich, Germany; and a graduate of Princeton University's Graduate School. Satz became Director of NYSID after Sherrill Whiton, Jr. died in 1972. Under Satz's leadership, NYSID became an accredited, degree-granted College and greatly expanded its curriculum, and student and faculty body. He served as President of NYSID (the change of title from Director to President came with to College accreditation) until 1990. He has since become a trustee and president emeritus.
